πŸŒ• The Full Moon High Rite of the Restored Eye

A Major Egyptian Lunar Ceremony for Supreme Wisdom, Memory, and Divine Alignment
Dedicated to Thoth (Djehuty), Lord of the Moon and Sacred Reckoning

PURPOSE OF THE HIGH RITE

This rite is performed at the Full Moon, when:

  • The Eye is whole
  • Knowledge is complete
  • Memory is restored
  • Judgment is clear

It is intended for:

  • Deep wisdom work
  • Spiritual initiation or renewal
  • Scribes, scholars, magicians, and priestly practitioners
  • Moments of intellectual, spiritual, or life transition

SACRED TIMING

  • Exact Full Moon preferred
  • Begin after moonrise
  • Rite duration: approximately 45–60 minutes

SACRED SPACE & TOOLS

Prepare a clean, ordered space. Disorder offends Ma’at.

Required

  • White or silver candle (central altar flame)
  • Incense (kyphi preferred; frankincense acceptable)
  • Bowl of water reflecting the moon
  • Writing surface and implement
  • Lunar offering: milk, honey, or white bread
  • Small stone, crystal, or silver object (the Eye)

Optional (High Rite Enhancements)

  • White linen or light-colored clothing
  • Ibis, moon, or Eye of Horus symbol
  • Drum or rattle (used sparingly)

I. THE OPENING OF THE TEMPLE

Stand facing the moon.

Raise both arms.

Say:

**β€œThe doors of heaven are opened.
The floodgates of light are drawn back.
The Full Moon stands complete in the sky.

I enter not in chaos,
I enter not in falsehood,
I enter in balance and right measure.”**

Light the incense.

II. PURIFICATION BY LUNAR WATER

Lift the bowl so moonlight touches the surface.

Say:

**β€œO Water that holds the Moon,
O Moon that purifies the Water,

Cleanse my sight,
Cleanse my speech,
Cleanse the hidden chambers of my mind.”**

Touch water to:

  • Forehead
  • Eyes
  • Lips
  • Heart

III. ESTABLISHMENT OF MA’AT

Place your right hand over your heart.

Recite slowly and deliberately:

**β€œMa’at stands at the prow of the Moon.
Falsehood is cut away.
Excess is restrained.
Confusion has no voice here.

My thoughts are weighed.
My intentions are measured.
I am aligned with what endures.”**

Pause for four breaths.

IV. INVOCATION OF THOTH, LORD OF THE FULL MOON

Lift the stone or Eye symbol toward the moon.

Say:

**β€œHail to you, Djehuty,
Ibis of silver light,
Counter of days,
Recorder of gods and men.

You who restored the Eye,
You who gathered what was scattered,
You who made the broken wholeβ€”

Come.
Stand within this circle of light.
Write wisdom upon my mind.”**

Place the stone before the candle.

V. THE RESTORATION OF THE EYE (CORE MYSTERY)

Place both hands over your eyes.

Say in a low voice:

**β€œThe Eye was wounded.
The Eye was divided.

Thoth has healed it.
Thoth has counted it.
Thoth has restored its fractions to wholeness.”**

Lower your hands.

Say firmly:

**β€œThe Eye is whole.
The Eye sees clearly.

Let my mind be whole.
Let my memory be restored.
Let my judgment be complete.”**

VI. THE SILENT RECEPTION (HIGH RITE STILLNESS)

Sit or stand in silence for 12 minutes.

  • Gaze softly at the moon or candle flame
  • Do not seek visions
  • Allow understanding to arrive

This silence is the heart of the rite.

VII. INSCRIPTION OF WISDOM

When the silence ends, take the writing implement.

Say:

β€œWhat is whole may now be written.”

Write freelyβ€”but briefly:

  • A truth
  • A realization
  • A vow
  • A symbol

Stop when the impulse ends.

VIII. OFFERING TO THOTH AND THE MOON

Place the offering before the candle.

Say:

**β€œWhat I have received, I honor.
What I have learned, I guard.

O Thoth, measurer of truth,
O Moon, mirror of order,
Accept this offering in balance.”**

Pour or gesture a libation.

IX. SEALING THE WISDOM

Place both hands over the written page.

Say:

**β€œLet this wisdom remain.
Let it not scatter.
Let it not fade.

As the Moon returns to fullness,
So may understanding return to me when needed.”**

X. CLOSING THE TEMPLE

Extinguish the candle last.

Say:

**β€œThe Moon continues her course.
Thoth returns to his counting.

The temple is closed,
But wisdom remains awake.”**

Bow once.

AFTER THE HIGH RITE (TRADITIONAL OBSERVANCE)

For three days following:

  • Avoid idle speech
  • Avoid rash decisions
  • Record dreams or sudden insights
  • Re-read what was written only after the third dayΒ

    FINAL TEMPLE MAXIM
β€œWhen the Moon is whole, listen.
    When the Moon wanes, reflect.
When the Moon is dark, keep silent.”
