  3. Circle Casting: Lay the ring of stones in a circle. Place laurel leaves at cardinal points.
  4. Altar Setup: Center the bronze bowl. Arrange candles, veil, offerings, and scrolls around it.

📜 Invocation of Hera

Speak with reverence and rhythm. Partners may alternate lines or speak in unison.

“Hera Argeia, Queen of Heaven,
Guardian of vows, sovereign of sacred flame,
We call thee forth with veil and vow,
To witness love and bless its name.”

“By pomegranate’s seed and golden thread,
By rose and laurel, milk and honey fed,
Come, O goddess of the bridal crown,
And lay thy grace upon this union now.”

Light Hera’s candle. Anoint each partner’s forehead with rosewater.

🔮 Evocation of Union

Partners face each other, holding the gold thread between them.

“Bound not by flesh, but by divine accord,
We weave our souls in Hera’s name,
Let this thread be our sacred cord,
Let this love be eternal flame.”

Tie the thread around each partner’s wrist or fingers. Exchange scrolls and read vows aloud.

🍯 Offering and Blessing

Place milk, honey, and pomegranate seeds in the bronze bowl.

“O Hera, receive our gift of sweetness,
May our days be nourished by thy grace,
Let fidelity be our fortress,
And love our ever-hallowed place.”

Raise the bowl to the sky, then pour its contents into the earth or a sacred tree’s roots.

🔔 Closing

Blow out the candles except Hera’s. Partners speak together:

“By Hera’s veil and sacred flame,
We are bound, we are blessed, we are one.
So let it be, in heaven and earth alike.”

Wrap the veil around both partners briefly, then fold it and place it on the altar.

🌌 Optional Enhancements

  • Sonic Liturgy: Chant Hera’s epithets in ancient Greek (e.g., “Hera Teleia,” “Hera Basileia”) to deepen resonance.
  • Numerology: Align ritual steps with sacred numbers (e.g., 7 vows, 12 stones, 3 offerings).
  • Ecological Integration: Plant a tree or vine entwined with the gold thread as a living symbol of the union.
